2010 sees the introduction of the "Bayside Bullets" - our first cheerleading team at our dancing school. tCHEERLEADING involves tumbling, jumping, stunts & pom poms. All of these skills are combined with dance, cheers & chants to become a cheer routine. CONDITIONING is an important part of cheerleading to improve strength, aerobic fitness and flexibilty to perform all that is required. Conditioning is built into all classes and age groups. POM POM is much more complex than it appears. Poms must be used 80% of the routine. Important characteristics of a pom routine include synchronization and visual effect, clean and precise motions, strong pom technique, and incorporate dance technical elements. Visual effect includes level changes, group work, formation changes, the use of different colour poms, etc. CHEER MINIS are classes for preschool children to introduce them to all facets of cheerleading & dance including pom poms, & tumbling. They do a fun warm-up with conditioning and learn the basic moves and dance steps. |
